Nih, 5 Negara Pembajak Software Terbesar

Jakarta - Indonesia didapuk Bussines Software Alliance (BSA) sebagai negara dengan presentase pembajakan software mencapai 86%. Tentu saja angka ini terbilang tinggi. Lantas, bagaimana dengan negara lain.

Sebelum mengeluarkan hasil untuk tahun 2011 ini, BSA melakukan riset kepada hampir 15 ribu pengguna komputer di 33 negara di seluruh dunia.

"Dari hasil tersebut angka pembajakan software PC secara global mendekati angka 42%. Dengan potensi kehilangan mencapai USD 63,4 miliar," terang Direktur Senior Anti-Piracy software BSA Asia Pacifik Turan Sawney, di Hotel Ritz Carlton, Selasa (15/5/2012).

Dari 33 negara tersebut, Indonesia berada di posisi kedua sebagai negara yang paling banyak memakai software ilegal. Dengan tingkat presentase mencapai 86% dan estimasi kerugian mencapai USD 1,467 miliar.

"Walaupun besar, sebetulnya jumlah tersebut turun 1% dari 87 % di tahun 2010 atau naik 1% di tahun 2009. Ini artinya 8 dari 10 software yang dipasang di komputer adalah software illegal," tambahnya.

Sementara posisi pertama atau yang tertinggi diraih Venezuela, dengan tingkat pembajakan mencapai 88% dengan tingkat kerugian mencapai USD 668 juta.

Turan menjelaskan, tingginya pembajakan di suatu negara belum tentu tinggi secara nilai kerugian. Pasalnya, penghitungan juga didasarkan pada pengeluaran untuk pembelian software legal dengan penetrasi PC yang terjual dibagi penjualan softwate ilegal.
